Hello All, When recently searching for help/assistance for an Aurora Family in need, I came across a ton of resources I thought I would share. Thank you specifically to the YNPN, Amy, and Lillian for your support! You helped make a difference for another family this year.
• United Way – Dial 211 from your phone
• The GIVE Center at Denver Human Services, 1200 Federal Blvd, helps with resource navigation for immediate needs. Have them come in and it is a walk in Mon-Thursday 9-3. https://www.denvergov.org/humanservices/DenverHumanServices/Community/GIVEDenver/TheGIVECenter/tabid/441774/Default.aspx
• Families First (Aurora) http://www.familiesfirstcolorado.org/
• Servicios de La Raza – http://serviciosdelaraza.org/
• Hunger Free Colorado – Food bank of Rockies http://www.hungerfreecolorado.org/
– For food assistance, I would encourage them to call the statewide Hunger Free Hotline. It’s a multilingual, toll-free number that connects Coloradans to needed food and nutrition resources. All information is kept confidential. (It’s run by our organization, Hunger Free Colorado.)
– Call the Hunger Free Hotline toll-free at (855) 855-4626. Food assistance navigators are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. If they call after-hours or on a weekend and leave a voicemail, someone will call them back the next business day.
Hope this helps!
