Flobots.org is proud to announce the return of Live at 5 with Jonny5 at the Ginn Mill!! Help make a difference in your community this Monday, June 18, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. Join us for happy hour and help raise money for local nonprofit, Flobots.org!!!!
It’s simple. Ginn Mill has generously donated their space every Monday to serve local nonprofit organizations. 100% of the proceeds from the bar will go directly back to flobots.org!
The event will feature Flobots MC, Jonny5, live at the Ginn Mill, ready to write some new tunes—with your help! Here’s how it works—donate some money—give Jonny5 a word or a verse to incorporate into a song, and he will perform it LIVE for you and your friends. If you donate for a whole verse, he will not only perform it LIVE, but also record it professionally and send it to you! That’s right—you and Jonny5 get to create beautiful music together!
New this year, we will also be featuring another element to our event: Pay to Play!! As Jonny5 works hard to incorporate your words and phrases into a song, a live DJ will be on hand for you to request your favorite songs!! There’s a catch—you have to PAY to PLAY. All donations go directly to Flobots.org. You can pay to play a song, pay to stop a song, pay to play your song next and skip all the others. You can even pay a little more to have your playlist to be featured. So come prepared to battle it out with the people next to you for control of the music for the night!!
This is going to be a great time!! So bring your friends and co-workers, have a cocktail or two, and help support your community!!
Flobots.org is currently raising money for their state of the art Youth Media Studio that will open in August 2013. Flobots.org Youth Media Studio will house 5-10 community classrooms, 20 computer workstations, an indoor performance space, administrative offices and an industry-standard digital media and music recording studio. Flobots.org intends to provide Denver’s under-served and at-risk youth population with access to Industry standard music and video-production equipment. By doing so, students will be better prepared for university programs which require technical literacy skills that might not otherwise have been provided to this population. Students who are trained on industry-standard equipment will also be better prepared to enter the job market. For more information, visit www.flobots.org
